The Sanitas Health and Development Foundation (SANHDEF) is a non-governmental organization committed to strengthening health systems and advancing sustainable development goals through strategic support in policy, service delivery, and capacity building.
SANHDEF has been engaged by the Gates Foundation (GF) to implement a three (3) year Health System Strengthening (HSS) Project in Kano State. The project will support the State in developing realistic plans to optimize its health systems, improve health outcomes, and build a more resilient healthcare infrastructure capable of meeting the needs of its growing population.
We are seeking highly motivated and skilled professionals to join our State-level team in various critical roles.
The Logistics Officer/Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable movement of project personnel and assets within Kano State. This position will also provide essential administrative and logistical support to the project team, ensuring field activities are well-coordinated, and office supplies and inventory are well-managed.
- Drive project staff and assets to all designated locations, including remote LGAs and PHC facilities in Kano State.
- Conduct daily pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and oversee routine servicing.
- Accurately maintain all vehicle documentation, including trip logbooks, mileage, and fuel consumption records.
- Provide hands-on logistical support for project field activities, including preparing, transporting, and setting up training materials and equipment.
- Perform critical official errands, such as delivering and picking up sensitive documents and materials from government offices and partners.
- Support minor local procurement processes, including obtaining quotes and delivering purchases.
- Support the Admin team with managing and tracking project inventory, supplies, and minor assets
- Minimum of a Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSCE). A valid Nigerian commercial or professional driver's license is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with an international NGO, donor-funded project, or reputable organization.
- Proven experience driving on challenging roads, particularly within Kano State LGAs.
- Demonstrated experience in a logistics, administrative, or field support role is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Basic proficiency in written and spoken English and a high level of fluency in Hausa is essential.
